Talk by Michelle Stokes
This is the beginning of the end for dementia.
Dementia robs us of everything that matters. Our memories. Our connections. Our story. Dementia has no right to take any of this from us. But we have every right to stop it. That’s why Alzheimer’s Research UK exists.
As the UK’s leading dementia research charity, we will not stop until the heartbreak of this condition is completely eradicated from our world. Right now, our scientists are working at a pace to revolutionise the way we diagnose, treat, and prevent dementia. And their work will lead us to a cure – because that’s what we deserve. We stand for every one of us affected by dementia. We stand for a cure.
I am passionate about raising awareness of dementia and the fantastic work of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Please note I'm not a medical practitioner! The talk focuses on the current research strategies Alzheimer's Research UK is currently undertaking in their search for a cure for dementia, plus some tips about how people can keep their own brains active.
The talk is a positive one, as I know from personal experience how devastating dementia can be when you lose a loved one to the disease.
