Talk by Dr Mark Edwards
Mark will be talking about osteoporosis, including why a diagnosis is essential and how it is diagnosed. He will discuss the importance of fracture risk assessment and decisions on when and how to treat. He will talk about new and established therapies for osteoporosis.
Mark is a Consultant Rheumatologist at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. His undergraduate medical training was undertaken at Bristol University, and his PhD at Southampton University. His specialist interest is in Metabolic Bone Disease and is one of the lead clinicians for the Fracture Liaison Service in Portsmouth.
