Talk by Dr. Phil Madgwick

Evolution is often conceived as a gradual fine-tuning process over millions of years, but this overlooks the more chaotic reality seen in the granularity of shorter timescales. By exploring wide-ranging examples of evolution in action over decades, the talk shows how genetics and ecology drive evolutionary change in the world around us.

Dr Philip G. Madgwick is an evolutionary biologist with a PhD in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Bath. Whilst Phil has published scientific research on wide-ranging topics in evolution, genetics and ecology, he currently works on predicting the evolution of pesticide resistance for the agrichemical company Syngenta.
