Energise Me believes every person deserves to live happy and healthy lives, and moving our bodies is a key part of that. Exercise helps prevent and manage long-term health conditions. We aim to help people find a way to be active that is right for them. Currently, 367,300 Hampshire and Isle of Wight residents are not meeting the recommended 150 minutes of physical activity a week. We're working with local communities to change this!

We want everyone to get active in a way that suits them, whether walking to the shops, hopping off the bus a stop earlier or joining a local group - whatever works for you.

If you want to learn more about how physical activity is a kind of medicine and what it can do for you, join us on Tuesday 21st January. We look forward to sharing what physical activity opportunities are on your doorstep and hearing about what you feel is missing from your area.

Robbie, the Activity and Wellbeing Manager at Everyone Active, will attend the session along with an exercise instructor to deliver a suitable movement session for everyone to give a go. Robbie will discuss the physical activity opportunities locally and would like to explore setting up a session at the community centre. The leisure centre wants to deliver more in communities, so if Robbie can confirm their interest in a session and what type of physical activity he wants, he can set this up! The more people who can attend the January meeting, the better for making the case for setting up a regular physical activity session at the community centre 😊

My colleague Emily will also attend and discuss Live Longer Better and the work happening locally to support older adults in living longer, happier, and healthier lives.
