Then here’s an opportunity to travel by coach from Petersfield to visit a historic gem in Hertfordshire – so you won’t even have to worry about driving or parking!
Inside Hatfield House, an early 17th century house, you’ll be able to enjoy state rooms rich in paintings, fine furniture and tapestries. And the extensive grounds include the Elizabeth Oak where (it is said) Queen Elizabeth I first learned of her accession to the throne.
The trip is being organised by Arts & Heritage but is open to all Petersfield u3a members.
Tickets cost £42 and cover entrance to the House, the services of Tour Guides, and a gratuity for the driver.
The deadline for booking your place is Friday 20 June.

Around & About

  • Herds of deer, ancient trees, a museum, a Roman villa, and stunning views and gardens were among the highlights of a spring break enjoyed by the Cycling for Fun group.
Members were blessed with sunny weather for each of their four rides in and around the New Forest.
The group is now looking forward to an autumn break in Dorset.
New members would be most welcome.
  • The 80th anniversary of VE Day was marked at a meeting of the Family History Group 2 with members sharing stories about what this day meant to their ancestors.
This group meets at Petersfield Community Centre on the second Wednesday of the month. New members would be welcome to join in September (after the summer break).
