The search is on for a successor (or successors) to Pauline Kneen who has stepped down from her role as Volunteer Coordinator and Management Committee member.
“We owe Pauline huge thanks for her amazing initiative in setting up our volunteer programme,” said Chair Charles Price. “Her hard work has enabled us to recruit and enthuse volunteers throughout Petersfield u3a.”

A special feature in ‘The Times’ reported: “Here you can age gracefully with an active u3a that organises trips and regular talks on more than 60 subjects.”
It went on to highlight opportunities to get out in the South Downs on two wheels, suggesting readers joined our Cycle For Fun group! - Peggy Pye and Sandra Sands of the Health Matters team will be spreading the word about Petersfield u3a when they host an information stand at The Avenue Pavilion in Petersfield.

Meet the MC
Responsible for looking after Petersfield u3a’s finances for the past two years has been Treasurer Greg Cumming.
A u3a member for seven years, Greg was invited to join the Management Committee in late November 2022 before taking on his current role a few months later (building on his previous experience as Treasurer of the Petersfield Beekeepers’ Association).
Before retiring, Greg served in the Royal Navy for more than 30 years as a Weapon Engineer. Once on ‘civvy street’ he worked for US company Hughes and Raytheon as UK manager for the Phalanx weapon system.
“During my career I had more than my fair share of foreign postings,” said Greg. “These included living in California (twice), Washington and Chile.”
