The group will appeal if you’re interested in Theatre/drama – what it is, what it does, why it’s distinctive; its context – when, where, for whom and why plays were/are written and produced; the themes and the audiences and objectives.
An important part of each session will be distributing parts and reading all or part of the play.
Sessions involve explanation, reading some or all of the play, and discussion. The maximum size of the group is 11 at present, and we're full - but please be in touch if you'd like to join.
The group has a membership of Hampshire libraries for borrowing sets of plays. This involves a subscription, which is shared amongst group members. Copies are usually available in advance of the ‘play date’ so there's time to read them before the meeting.
