News Flash
At our first session of 2026 we made a light-hearted presentation to our most frequent attender during 2025. Andrew took home a certificate and the prize - an old pickleball ball, upcycled to a Christmas decoration!

The Pickleball 2 Group has been meeting on Friday afternoons since March 2024.
Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton and tennis. We play indoors on a badminton-sized court with Pickleball nets. Two or four players use solid paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball over the net. Although Pickleball is like tennis, there are important differences that make it more accessible for children and seniors - a smaller court, a slower ball and an underarm serve. It is fun, good exercise and is good for social contact.
There is a £2.50 charge for each player per session to cover court fees and consumables. The Group has two paddles (jointly funded by our u3a and the group’s members) which new players can use initially before they need to purchase their own paddle.
All members of the group need to have a level of mobility and awareness of the ball and of the players around them to not put at risk their own safety or that of others on court. You are welcome to come and watch some play if you are not sure
