The idea behind our group is to extend our reading around a given topic. This means that you will never be asked to read a book you don’t like but instead self-select and share your choice.

The way it works is each meeting ends with one member in turn choosing the topic for the next meeting. These choices are always eclectic an early example was ‘anything published in English translation from another language.’

Our more recent choices have been ‘bees’ ‘winter’ and ‘love’ Our choices can be in poetry or prose, fiction or nonfiction so that everyone can be included with their favourite reading style.

We all gain new ideas for authors, and as choices vary hugely we all benefit from finding new writers plus the discussions between introduced books are always rewarding and enjoyable.
