with Dr Alexandra Loske
Alexandra has spoken to us on numerous occasions and always in depth and beautifully illustrated. She became the Curator of the Royal Pavilion several years ago and entertained a group of members to the exhibition of the Royal Artefacts before returning to Buckingham Palace.
The talk she gives this time will cover how artists have depicted themselves with the tools of their trade. and how the significance of the pigments and colours chosen can help represent the physical objects. She will draw on examples such as Rembrandt's golden browns and Winifred Nicholson's prismatic violets, and how many other artists using this simple tactile tool can be a symbol and mirror of his/her personality.
Alexandra has written a beautifully illustrated book which will cover this subject more fully and published the same month as this lecture.
