Jenny joined Petersfield u3a in 2014 and has been a Committee member since 2018. When she first joined the u3a, she and other enthusiasts started a weekly ‘French Linguists Who Laugh’ group, which is still going, and also initiated ‘Spanish ¡Hola!’, which later became a group of serious Spanish linguists. When COVID struck in 2020, as Groups Convenor, Jenny is proud to have enabled about 70% of our members to meet on that previously unknown medium, Zoom, and to provide tuition and funding for Zoom Subscriptions.
Professionally, Jenny had an international food import/export business. During her working life, she travelled extensively, and one moment stands out. “Watching just three gauchos on horseback in the Argentine Pampas rounding up 1000 head of Angus cattle. Amid the sound of hooves, there was much snorting and dust, but a magnificent sight.”  In the u3a, she volunteered to give back to the community and share her skills. Used to working in a team, joining the Committee gave her the team spirit she missed in retirement and helped her build a wider circle of friends. She has enjoyed “meeting people and ensuring that our members get the best possible experience”.
