Petersfield u3a members
Welcome to our latest e-newsletter, giving a quick summary of what’s happening within Petersfield u3a. To find out more, simply click on the blue links to be taken straight to our website.

Doesn’t time fly?
While most of us are likely to be focused on enjoying the summer – whether it’s travelling to foreign parts or making the most of living in and around Petersfield – preparations are well in hand for the start of the u3a’s 2025/26 membership year.
Set to arrive in mid-August, an email will be inviting you to renew your membership. And it really couldn’t be easier.
- If you have set up a Standing Order already, you don’t need to do anything. Your own bank will transfer your membership fee automatically. Do not pay by Bank Transfer as well or you will be paying twice!
- If you don’t have a Standing Order, you can either set one up or pay by Bank Transfer (once you’ve received your membership renewal).
Renewing the membership of more than 750 Petersfield u3a members is no mean feat for Membership Secretary Sandy Stephens (supported by Sue Read and working closely with Treasurer Greg Cumming). Thanks go to them.
Dates for your Diary
It’s time for a breather, with no talks by guest speakers until September.
But there’s plenty to look forward to, with topics ranging from Whitchurch Silk Mill and Agent Zig Zag to the account of one woman’s extraordinary life in Burma in the 1930s and 40s.
Look out for more details in August issues of ‘Connect’.
Keep in Touch
In the last 12 months have you moved house, changed your mobile number, or taken on a new email address?
If the answer to any of these is ‘yes’, please update our Membership Secretary at memsec@petersfieldu3a.org.uk. After all, Petersfield u3a can only continue to keep in touch with you if you’ve provided your up-to-date contact details.
Next month an important email will be dropping into your inbox. You won’t want to miss it!
Have Your Say
‘Connect’ always welcomes news and feedback from Petersfield u3a members via u3aeditorconnect@gmail.com.
Has your group got some exciting plans for the autumn? Or would you simply like to remind members of when you resume after the summer (if you’re taking a break) or if you’ve spaces for newcomers?
To make sure the e-newsletter is easy and interesting to read – and the style is consistent – copy is likely to be edited. The original version of any submission can be posted on the relevant page on our website and easily accessed from ‘Connect’ via a link.
The next issue of ‘Connect’ will be emailed to you on Saturday 2 August, with a copy deadline for all contributions of Tuesday 29 July.
