Petersfield u3a

Member Code of Conduct

Petersfield u3a - run by its members, for its members

Welcome to Petersfield u3a! This is a registered charitable trust affiliated to the national u3a movement, the Third Age Trust, which brings together people who, later in life, are no longer in full-time employment to develop their interests and continue learning in a social environment. It acts as a peer-to-peer learning network that enables members to develop their own and each other’s learning in a collaborative and inclusive community. In so doing, it also offers opportunities for friendship, support and well-being.

Petersfield u3a exists only because our members play their part by volunteering as opportunities arise. It is governed on behalf of its members by its trustees, who are themselves member volunteers and act as a management committee.

For the benefit of all our members, we expect you to:

  • treat one another with courtesy, consideration and kindness
  • support and encourage one another as you take part in learning activities together
  • contribute to a welcoming and encouraging community
  • respect different opinions and perspectives
  • follow the established arrangements of the learning groups in which you participate
  • support the efforts of group leaders/convenors and other organisers
  • volunteer your own time, ideas or skills when opportunities arise
  • use the resources of Petersfield u3a responsibly
  • always act in the best interests of the Petersfield u3a and the national organisation

Thank you!
