Members of Writing Group 2 travelled to Newbury recently to meet and have lunch with successful author Anne Youngson, an international bestseller after publishing her first novel at 70. Anne described her journey to writing success, which began after she retired from a career in industry, and answered the many questions posed by our members. Now aged 77, Anne has a strong following in the USA and Europe and continues to write novels that require considerable research and skill.

Meeting Anne reinforced the members’ belief that age is no barrier to success. Her own inspirational story, combined with the many practical writing tips she shared, ensured that we all came away with a determination to write, write, write.
