3rd Annual Christmas Tournament

The annual Backgammon Tournament will take place at 10am, Monday 15th December 2025.

All u3a Petersfield members are welcome to attend as players or observers. Prospective players should register with the group Convenor using the link above. A small prize will be offered, just for fun.

The Backgammon Group meet every Monday at 10am and understand that not everybody is able to commit to every week so are entirely flexible with attendance welcoming random or winter membership.

We do encourage new members to give this enjoyable gamer a go. We will provide tuition for newbies and have made adjustments to the board to aid those who are visually or dexterity challenged.

Backgammon is a dice game played on a board, it combines skill and luck. Its origin is unknown but game layouts similar to modern layouts have been identified dating back 5,000 years. Local playing instructions can be seen here.

The location is within easy walking distance of The Square or, if parking is required, the Tesco car park is on the opposite side of Hylton Road.

The venue has requested that members who feel unwell do not attend due to the relative age and vulnerability of some of the residents.

Events at this venue will only be available when hosted by a resident.
